The Internet abounds with all sorts of information on piano, but unless you can be reasonably sure of its source and accuracy, be wary. For example, information about piano posted in Internet newsgroups can be flawed. Even if the piano document contains great technical detail, there is often no hard evidence to back up the claims. Don't make the mistake of accepting gossip as truth, which may prove to be professionally and financially embarrassing.

While embarrassment is rarely fatal, more serious consequences can result from following piano advice posted in newsgroups or on websites. While someone may be well-meaning in offering the information, can you trust it? Is this person a piano consumer who has actually purchased and used the products or are they just an opinionated individual? Or are they a competitor?

The links will take you to web sites we judge have been created by experts in the field of piano, and that will become obvious to you also as soon as you arrive at the sites. However we know that everyone is different in their piano requirements and suggest if you don't find what you are looking for at the above sites, visit Yahoo which is arguably the best search engine on the net, and then perform a search on piano.

We might mention that yahoo is by no means your only search engine option when you are looking for piano information, other search engines are google alta vista, hotbot, msn, etc which should all produce good piano results.

How To Recognize an Essential Oil?

 by: Nitin Jain

A selection of essential oils is now available from health food shops, chemists and by mail order. When you are buying them, be careful to choose essential oils, not perfumed oils. Although these may well smell delicious they are not benefecial for aromatherapy.

An essential oil is:

  1. Thin and watery rather than oily.

  2. Swift to evaporate and it wont leave a greasemark on paper.

  3. Overpoweringly scented when neat, which can be quite unpleasant.

Perfumed oils will always smell pleasant whereas essential oils often have more of the effect of smelling salts.

All essential oils fall into three basic categories:

  1. TOP NOTES : These oils evaporate very quickly. They are generally uplifting and stimulating, with a greenish, fresh aroma.

  2. MIDDLE NOTES : These are used to help with most bodily functions and the body;s metabolism.

  3. BASE NOTES : These are extremely relaxing, sometimes sedative and generally have a lovely, warm aroma.

You'll notice essential oils are always sold in tinted glass bottles (if not, be suspicious). This is becaiuse they are special oils that need a little care. They are damaged by light and should always be stored in a dark, cool place. Be careful to keep the lids tightly screwed on your bottles, otherwise you will be disappointed to discover your oils have evaporated into thin air.

Here is a very informative chart describing the benefits of various essential oils: http://www.ultimate-cosmetics.com/aromatherapy/essential-oils-information.htm
